Data News Weekly proudly endorses Democratic U.S. Senate Candidate Jamie Davis in the Runoff Election on June 27, 2026.
Rooted in Public Service
Davis has built his campaign around a message of public service, rural roots, and addressing the challenges facing working families across Louisiana.
As a third-generation farmer from Tensas Parish, Davis connects with many voters through his experiences in agriculture and local government. Those experiences have shaped his understanding of the issues affecting everyday Louisianans. Before seeking federal office, he served as a member of the Tensas Parish Police Jury, where he worked on local issues impacting residents in his community.
Focused on Louisiana’s Challenges
Throughout the campaign, Davis has emphasized the importance of listening to voters from every region of the state. His message has focused on issues such as healthcare access, economic opportunity, support for farmers, infrastructure improvements, and addressing the rising costs facing families and small businesses.
Davis is a bridge-builder who frequently describes himself as someone who understands the concerns of working people because of his own experiences in farming and public service. He has highlighted the challenges facing rural communities, including access to healthcare, economic development, and educational opportunities.
Building Connections Across Communities
His supporters, who come from both urban and rural areas and represent a variety of racial and socioeconomic backgrounds, say his background offers a perspective that is often underrepresented in Washington. They point to his work in local government and his ability to connect with voters across geographic and economic lines.
Throughout the campaign, Davis has also spoken about the need for greater collaboration in addressing Louisiana’s Challenges. He has called on leaders to focus on practical solutions and policies that improve the quality of life for residents throughout the state.
Looking Ahead
As the runoff approaches, Davis remains focused on sharing his Vision for Louisiana and engaging voters from all backgrounds in discussions about the state’s future.
Additionally, the November Election will pit the winner of this primary against either Trump-backed candidate Julia Letlow or John Fleming. We at Data News Weekly believe Jamie Davis is uniquely positioned to unite people across Louisiana’s political, geographic, and cultural divides and is the candidate best equipped to bring diverse communities together around common goals and shared challenges.
