City Officially Declares Jefferson Davis Parkway as Norman C. Francis Parkway

The New Orleans City Council officially renamed South Jefferson Davis Parkway to South Norman C. Francis Parkway on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to honor the former President of Xavier University of Louisiana. New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, City officials, family and friends masked up to commemorate Dr. Norman C. Francis, 89, at the ceremony where U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris sent formal remarks to recognize Francis’ Legacy.
