Congo Square Rhythms Festival 2026 Celebrated Culture and Community at Armstrong Park

The 2026 Congo Square Rhythms Festival returned to Louis Armstrong Park on March 28th and 29th, bringing a vibrant celebration of music, culture, and community to the historic Congo Square. Presented by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, the free festival honored the Rich Cultural Heritage that has shaped New Orleans’ Unique Identity.

The festival featured two stages with performances by Cha Wa, Zigaboo Modeliste, Kyle Roussel’s Church of New Orleans, New Breed Brass Band, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Tonya Boyd-Cannon, Charmaine Neville Band, Preservation Brass, and more. Attendees also experienced traditional drumming, dance showcases, spoken word, local cuisine, and artisan vendors.

The event highlighted the Legacy of Congo Square as a historic gathering place where African, Caribbean, and Afro-Creole Traditions continue to influence the city’s sound and spirit. Families, residents, and visitors gathered under the Park’s Oak Trees to celebrate culture, connection, and community.
