Data News Staff Edited Report
The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission continues its 2025 Athlete of the Week Program by honoring another standout youth athlete who exemplifies leadership, skill, and heart both on and off the field.Week 3’s Athlete of the Week is Khi’Zer “Khi” Cobbins, a dynamic and versatile performer for the Milne Raiders. At just 6 years old, Khi is already making a big impact across multiple sports, including football, basketball, and baseball. A First Grader at Robert Russa Moton Charter School, Khi maintains a 4.0 GPA and is widely recognized as a natural leader among his peers.

Khi’s recent performance in a key matchup against the Willie Hall Panthers showcased his all-around athletic ability. On defense, he racked up seven tackles, and on offense, he broke free for an electrifying 80-yard touchdown run. His knack for rising to the occasion has earned him a reputation as one of the most impactful young players in the league.

Khi draws inspiration from his family—especially his mother—and looks up to his big brother, Ke’Michael Cobbins, his cousin Kolaj Cobbins (#48 for LSU), and NFL Star Lamar Jackson. That foundation of family and faith drives his belief that with determination, anything is possible.

Each week during football season, NORD recognizes one exceptional youth athlete from its leagues and local middle schools. Honorees are selected by coaches and NORD Officials based on skill, leadership, and dedication to the game. Featured athletes are celebrated every Friday at 11 p.m. on WGNO’s Friday Night Football.
