The New Orleans Saints celebrated one of the greatest players in Franchise History on Sunday, October 11, 2026, as Legendary Quarterback Drew Brees received his Pro Football Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence and was inducted into the Saints Ring of Honor during halftime of the team’s game against the Minnesota Vikings at the Caesars Superdome.

The ceremony marked another milestone for Brees, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August. For Saints fans and the Who Dat Nation, the occasion represented more than football. It was a celebration of a player whose leadership helped transform a struggling franchise into a Super Bowl Champion and became part of New Orleans’ remarkable comeback following Hurricane Katrina.

Brees arrived in New Orleans in 2006, when the city was rebuilding after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Alongside Head Coach Sean Payton, he helped restore pride and excitement to a community searching for reasons to celebrate.

That journey reached its defining moment during the 2009 Season when Brees led the Saints to their first Super Bowl Championship, defeating the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 in Super Bowl XLIV.

During his 15 seasons in New Orleans, Brees established franchise records with 68,010 passing yards, 491 touchdown passes and 142 victories as a starting quarterback. His precision, leadership and competitive spirit made him one of the most respected Quarterbacks in NFL History.

Saints Owner Gayle Benson praised his lasting impact on the organization and community.

“His extraordinary accomplishments on the field, his leadership, and his lasting contributions to the New Orleans community make this honor so well deserved,” Benson said in announcing the recognition.

Brees became the Ninth Member of the Saints Ring of Honor, joining Franchise Legends including Archie Manning, Rickey Jackson, Sam Mills and Willie Roaf.

Although the Saints fell to Minnesota 23-13, the halftime celebration offered fans an opportunity to remember the team’s championship years.

For New Orleans, Drew Brees will always represent more than touchdowns and victories. His Legacy is forever connected to a city’s resilience, a team’s transformation and the unforgettable moment when the Black and Gold brought a Super Bowl Championship home.

His place in Saints History is now permanently honored in gold.
