As Louisiana prepares for the November 2026 Election, Treux North Wellness is joining a national effort to encourage voter participation and civic engagement through a series of community events across Orleans, Jefferson, and East Baton Rouge Parishes.
Danielle Burrell, M.Ed., MCHES, Principal Consultant of Treux North Wellness, announced that the organization has been selected as a grantee of Civic Nation and former First Lady Michelle Obama’s When We All Vote initiative.
The partnership will support six nonpartisan events, including four Community Pop-Ups and two Party at the Polls Celebrations, designed to bring residents together while promoting voter awareness and participation.
The events combine community fellowship, food, entertainment, and civic engagement, creating welcoming spaces for residents to connect and learn more about the electoral process.
The first Party at the Polls will take place Friday, October 23rd, from noon to 3 p.m. at Royal Taste of Jamaica, 320 St. Charles Street in Baton Rouge.
A second celebration, hosted in partnership with Rejoice Incorporated of New Birth Cathedral of Glory, will be held Saturday, October 24th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Gathering House, 2146 Reverend Richard Wilson Drive in Kenner.
The Community Pop-Up series begins Sunday, October 25th, from 2 to 5 p.m. at SouthShore Harbor Bar & Grill, 6901 Stars and Stripes Boulevard in New Orleans.
Three additional pop-ups are scheduled for Election Day, Tuesday, November 3rd. The first will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tekrema Center for Art & Culture, located at the NORDC Andrew P. Sanchez & Copelin-Byrd Multi-Service Center, 1616 Fats Domino Avenue.
The Community Book Center, 2523 Bayou Road, will host an event from 2 to 4 p.m., followed by a final gathering at Jamboclot Authentic Jamaican Cuisine, 5222 Elysian Fields Avenue, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The first 100 pre-registered attendees at each Party at the Polls event and the first 30 at each pop-up will receive tickets for complimentary food and drink giveaways.
All events are nonpartisan, and free items are available to voters and non-voters alike.
