In a decisive victory for change and public safety reform, Michelle Woodfork has been elected Sheriff of Orleans Parish. The former Interim Superintendent of the New Orleans Police Department ran on a platform centered on transparency, accountability, and community engagement.

Throughout her campaign, she emphasized improving jail conditions, increasing deputy recruitment and training, and strengthening trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Her victory reflects voters’ confidence in her experience in providing competent, accountable leadership in the Criminal Sheriff’s Office.
