New Orleans East Hospital and Aetna Better Health of Louisiana held the Know Your Numbers – Health Screening Kick-off on Friday, August 25th, 2023, at the Who Dat Barber Shop, 5741 Crowder Blvd, Suite A8, 70127.

This collaborative initiative aims to encourage Black men across the city of New Orleans to be proactive about their health by gaining awareness of their crucial health indicators. Comprehensive health screenings including blood pressure screenings, heart rate monitoring, BMI checks, and pulse oximeter measurements will all be provided.

New Orleans East Hospital’s recent “A” rankings from the Lown Institute, a national organization doing the groundbreaking work of evaluating hospitals on what “really matters”, including social responsibility, health equity, and patient outcomes.

This accomplishment opens the door to evaluate New Orleans as an oversaturated health landscape with a high health system-to-population ratio. The people of New Orleans, your readers, deserve to be educated on what makes a hospital worth visiting when they have so many options to choose from.
