The LSU Lady Tigers Basketball Team made “Herstory” winning their first NCAA Championship.

Led by standout player Angel Reese, who was named Most Outstanding Player of the 2023 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship.

The LSU-Iowa NCAA Division I National Championship Game, which was shown on ABC, was the most-watched women’s college basketball game of all time, ESPN announced on Monday.

No. 3 seed LSU’s 102-85 victory against No. 2 seed Iowa averaged 9.9 million viewers, with a peak of 12.6 million, across all platforms, the network said.
The LSU-Iowa Game was also the most-watched college event ever on ESPN+, the network said.

The growth of women sports is an incredible step in the right direction, and many are excited for the Lady Tigers, led by their Head Coach Kim Mulkey and a talented team of players such as All-American Angel Reese.

All around the state people are celebrating the great victory and the making of “Herstory.”
