On May 7, 2018, Dr. Dwight McKenna was sworn in as Orleans Parish Coroner after winning his electoral race in October, 2017. This event is historical not only for New Orleans, but Dr. McKenna is now the first African-American to be elected as Coroner in the nation. We congratulate Dr. McKenna on his accomplishment, and wish him the best in this position.
