When Brave People Fly

If by now you don’t know how brave you have become, let me be the first to remind you that you deserve all that this world has to give, even in the midst of a disaster as you save yourself because that’s what we do when we have wings to change our own course. Today, is about you not cracking under the pressure, staying focused and flying against the hurricane winds, rising like the Phoenix with the fortitude to win another battle because you are strong, and you can make anything happen as I mentioned in my new book, “You Better Got Your Dream.”

Let us not forget about the little things i.e., life, family and friendship. Letting go of the material possessions we may still have and some that may have been destroyed. Know that your life is far more amazing than any article you may be worrying your beautiful soul over. It is in moments like these, we have to become more observant of keeping our minds with our bodies, because we are only able to control those things of which we can. As you move forward with the reconstruction of your life, try something new and start journaling down the things you love about yourself moving to those things that you would be willing to change for the better, releasing all the things you haven’t had time to rid yourself in order to live a more balanced life with a calmer attitude.

Now, is a good time to tap into your creative power as you dig a little deeper into who you are as a mother, a father, a co-worker, even when it seems like the sky has fallen, the clouds are moving, so that you’ll have a better view. You have the power to make changes in your life because when you’re from New Orleans you can weather any storm because we are brave and resilient. We can change things with our unbreakable spirits. Let the brave you write your own story for some of us may cry and a many of us will live to tell our truth. It is in the darkest of places where we truly grow into beautiful beings. It’s time you pull out your journal and save your own life because the road ahead is going to be tough, but you can make it because you got hot sauce running through your veins.

Don’t forget that you will need to be as clear minded as possible. Turn off your phone and the television along with any other distractions, so that you can concentrate as you quiet down your mind and spirit. Find a quiet spot. Even though most of us are surrounded by family we should bargain with someone in the household who can help us disappear for at least twenty minutes. Write down the good, the bad, and the things you will one-day be able to scream to the world aloud. Writing in a journal will be your release as you allow your soul to flow in happiness.

Cherish the moments in life where you have failed and was able to turn things around because you are amazing, strong and powerful. Don’t be afraid to empower yourself with gratitude and gratefulness. No one can do what you do. You are brave and when brave people fly, they become unstoppable! Let this be the beginning of a new chapter of your life. Nothing can hold you down when you’re from New Orleans. We find happiness in the midst of disaster because we were born and raised in a City full of culture and promise.

Stay brave and don’t forget you’ll never be alone in this life cuz we Nola Baby!
